Let's do some good, together: fundraising with Memento.

To our friends and followers,

Give Memento Inc. was founded in Chicago, a magnificent city that also suffers from years of discrimination and systematic oppression. We see firsthand the segregation in our city and the socioeconomic disparities between the North, South and West sides. Even as a young startup, we have a voice and we want to use it for the better. We want to promote positive values in our community through our mission and our brand.

As a start, we’ve set up a fundraising event on Memento, to give each of you the opportunity to express your voice. We are honored to have partnered with an incredible, local charity, “My Block, My City, My Hood”. We will personally match up to $1,000 of donations through our fundraiser and share your messages directly with this organization. To donate, simply download the app, click on GIVE, and enter the event code: BLM2020.

We also recognize that it’s an unusual time for each of you for various personal and professional reasons. Over the last few months, weddings, birthdays, graduations and even funerals have been cancelled or moved to virtual celebrations. Our hairdressers and bartenders were temporarily out of work. And our healthcare neighbors are still working overtime. As a result, Jeff has been staying up each night working on application updates to align with your current needs. We believe there is no better time to send someone a Memento - a meaningful video message with a little cash gift.

We have some ideas, on how all of us can use Memento to make someone’s day.

  • Help another local charity or someone in need by hosting your own virtual fundraising event. Your friends can send the charity, “thinking of you” messages during this time. If you need help, reach out and we will help connect you with a local group.

  • Send a friend a digital Memento during their original event celebration date (wedding, graduation, shower etc.) - even if it is virtual or postponed. Who wouldn’t love a surprise message and some extra cash?

  • Create a Memento for your clients or employees who are working overtime to accommodate these new circumstances. Or even to those coworkers or friends who have experienced unfortunate job loss during this time.

If you have any questions about Memento or want to brainstorm more ideas on how we can give back to our community, together, let us know.

Thank you,

Chelsie and Jeff
